Hudson Mohawke – Gluetooth
This is the video I shot of Harrison Boyce’s talk at Pecha Kucha tonight. The video looks like a handycam theater bootleg, but it might be the only video of the talk.

Sebastien Tellier – Look (Brian Park’s Ishmael Mix)
My friend Brian Park made this. [via: the Greatest Conversation]

Staple winter items from Army & Navy. Black magic gloves and generic black toque, 99¢ each.

I don’t think I’ve ever failed so hard at carving a pumpkin as I did tonight. Luckily my brother Tom pulled off a nice owl pumpkin as shown above. Also Courtney carved a nice one that is a definite improvement over her pumpkin from last year (Left to right: Courtney’s, Colin’s, mine). Check out my failed pumpkin and hers after the jump.

This coming Thursday is the 8th installment of the Vancouver Pecha Kucha series. I’ve never actually been to one of these things so it will be my first one. My friend Harrison Boyce is speaking at this one, and Twitter tells me he just finished his presentation. Apparently tickets for this one are already sold out but the next one is on November 26th. Anyway, excited to check it out.

The Spits – 19 Million A.C.
So against my better judgement I have enabled comments on this site. This unfortunately goes against my goal of creating the starkest and most clinical theme ever, but it might be fun. I have also implemented a keyboard shortcut for search. Simply press the “S” key to activate the search menu. If you don’t have a keyboard for any reason, you can also access this menu via the Search link in the upper right hand corner of the page.

Here is Now was last night and the turn out was huge. Good stuff.

The Here is Now pop-up art show is tonight. My friends Kyle Scully, Jessica Delorme and Jeff Hamada are showing their work. Should be fun.

Dâm-Funk – Hood Pass Intact
(I pretty much aggregate all my music from my msn bot friend Alex Will)

The project I’ve been working on at Mozilla for the past 3 months has launched today. Raindrop is an ongoing, open-source, extensible, web messaging platform which prioritizes your inbox. I’ve added the project to my portfolio page which you can see here. This is not so much an official release with everything in place, but rather the release of an open design process. We are encouraging other designers and developers to engage in discourse with us. The Raindrop project page also has a bunch of essential links all relating to Raindrop, so if you are interested please take a look at them and leave us some feedback on the Raindrop Design blog.

I just added the Art & Sole project to my portfolio. It’s funny—the night of the show one of my shoes went missing, and only one of my shoes ever actually got documented. Apparently my other shoe was retrieved from under a car seat and placed back in El Kartel after the opening night, but I haven’t seen it yet. I kind of like that this is the only shoe that most people will see since I like this one a lot more than the other.
In other news I’ve also cleaned up my projects and added some space for new projects which will be up soon (The ones labeled coming soon). There is also a “in use” page for Neighbourhood type, documenting some of the things people have made with it. I’m going to keep that updated with other peoples work, so if you have a project you’ve used Neighbourhood for and would like it featured just shoot me an e-mail.

Shlohmo – Socks

I went to a party this weekend and my friend Ellen found a keyboard to play!
EDIT: I’ve also just noticed Ellen has updated her portfolio with a ton of new work. It all looks really awesome.

Couple quick shots from Saturday — Joe’s Grill with Jeff Hamada, David Lang, Harrison Boyce, and Travis Collier.
