Some of the stuff I ordered through my friend Mark at Rain City Bikes has started to come through and it’s looking really good. The wheels are coming together and I’m getting pretty excited about the build. Pictured above are Mavic Open Pro rims, 36 hole for the rear and 32 hole for the front – silver.

Frame progress

A little while ago I posted a picture of my frame when I originally stripped it down. Since then my friend Dave has been working on cleaning up the frame for me by stripping the paint and grinding down some of the superfluous parts (shifter mounts, cable guides, derailleur hanger etc). I went over to his place tonight to check out the progress and so far and it’s looking super good. Here’s a process shot of the dropouts with the derailleur hanger and rack mounts ground off. There’s still a little bit of paint on the frame but it should be ready to go soon. Hit the jump for a picture of the whole frame after the jump.

Tangents went down on Friday night and it was awesome. Big congratulations to Jeff for putting it on and having it be a big success. Here’s a quick snapshot from the roof of the show. I don’t think I’ve ever failed so hard at carving a pumpkin as I did tonight. Luckily my brother Tom pulled off a nice owl pumpkin as shown above. Also Courtney carved a nice one that is a definite improvement over her pumpkin from last year (Left to right: Courtney’s, Colin’s, mine). Check out my failed pumpkin and hers after the jump.
